Because 3ds max is highly dependent on the graphics card in your system, many problems encountered when using this program may be caused by video. The 3ds max video driver and troubleshooting are given here to help you solve problems such as performance degradation, refresh delay, and user interface imbalance caused by the video driver.
Basic troubleshooting starting point
As a rule of thumb, before attempting to diagnose any 3ds max problem, you can make your diagnosis more effective by resetting the display configuration to its default values. After installing and starting 3ds Max for the first time, the "Graphic Driver Settings" dialog box will appear.
If the original configuration is "OpenGL", "Direct3D" or "Custom", please select the "Software" driver. If the problems you encounter while running 3ds Max persist, you can disable the video card or driver by configuring the "software" driver.
Reset the configuration within 3ds max.
Choose Customize menu> Preferences.
Open the Viewport panel and check the currently installed driver.
If it is not a "software" driver, please continue. Otherwise, you can cancel and start the diagnosis elsewhere.
If the settings are "OpenGL", "Direct3D" or a custom driver, click the "Select Driver" button.
The "Graphic Driver Settings" dialog box is displayed.
Select "Software" and click the "OK" button.
You will see a message that the changes you made will take effect the next time you start 3ds Max.
Quit 3ds max and restart the program.
Try to perform tasks that have had problems.
Reset the configuration before starting 3ds max.
Start 3ds Max from the command line. Choose Start> Run.
Click the "Browse" button, browse to the \ 3dsmax7 \ folder, and select 3dsmax.exe.
Click Open on the Browse dialog box, but do not click the OK button on the Run dialog box.
On the Run dialog, place the cursor at the end of the command line, and add -h to the string.
It should read as c: \ 3dsmax7 \ 3dsmax.exe -h
Click the "OK" button on the "Run" dialog box.
3ds max will start and display the "Graphic Driver Settings" dialog box, just like when you first started it after installing 3ds max.
Select the "Software" driver, and then try to perform the task that had the problem when opening the program.
If the problem does not recur, you know that you have encountered a display problem. If this is the case, please check the following related to the video card:
Verify that the video card supports the driver you are trying to use.
Some cards do not fully support OpenGL or Direct3D.
You may not have the latest video driver for the card.
Please contact the board manufacturer for updated drivers.
If the original configuration is "OpenGL", try "Direct3D" and vice versa.
The driver of the graphics card can provide better support for the driver than others.
Direct3D failed to initialize message
3ds max supports both DirectX 8.1 and DirectX 9. When configuring the display settings, you selected DirectX 9, and after starting 3ds Max, you only received a message telling you that "Direct3D failed to initialize. Please make sure that the latest version of DirectX is installed."
This usually means that your card does not support DirectX 9 or you do not have DirectX 9 installed. Restore the Direct3D version to DirectX 8.1, and confirm that the running DirectX is the latest version.
Choose Start> Run.
In the "Open" field, enter dxdiag and click the "OK" button.
On the System tab, check the DirectX version.
If DirectX 8.1 is displayed, you need to download the updated version from Microsoft.
Direct3D reports memory warning
If you configure 3ds max to use the Direct3D driver, you may encounter a memory warning when starting the program.
If you run several programs that seriously affect the video memory of the graphics card, and the 3ds max interface is maximized or expanded to cover most of the display area, this warning dialog box usually appears.
The quickest way to pass this warning is as follows:
Close some other programs that are running at the same time as 3ds Max.
Reduce the interface size of 3ds max.
Reconfigure 3ds max to use a different display driver.
With many years of dedicated R&D in the lighting technology field, Win 3 produces mining cap lamps that reduce visual fatigue while maintaining high light output levels.
Win 3 Cap Lamps outlast the completion. The high quality LED has a lifespan of more than 30,000 hours and the phosphate technology battery more than 1000 cycles.
The lenght of the cable can be customized per customer's request, we usually do 1.6m and 1.8m.
