The world's leading supplier of a full set of interconnect products Radiall and Molex Incorporated (Radiall) announced continued cooperation, expand SMP-MAX series of cost-effective, the introduction of a board to board (board-to-board), module module (module-to-module) and control board-to-panel-to-panel telecom applications for new symmetric adapters and RF coaxial interconnect solutions. As a second source supplier, Molex will design, manufacture and market these connector products to customers worldwide.
Roger Kauffman, Marketing/Marketing Manager, RF Products, Molex , said: "We have significantly expanded the SMP-MAX connector family. Over the past 18 months, we have developed more than 80 specific designs. Just like all Molex SMP- MAX connectors, the new product with the industry's largest misalignment tolerance, enables simple and reliable connections even in blind-plug applications."
The new SMP-MAX symmetrical adapter eliminates the risk of assembly errors during manufacturing. Molex has more than 80 specific SMP-MAX connector designs developed for global telecom customers, making SMP-MAX one of the fastest growing product families in the RF industry. As a cost-effective solution for almost any configuration, SMP-MAX is currently deployed in many wireless telecommunications projects in North America, Europe and Asia.
The SMP-MAX connector is capable of handling maximum board-to-board distance tolerances of at least 2.00 mm (0.078 in) pitch without the need for springs - far greater than standard SMP connectors. The product also features a 3 degree tilt (radial travel) with an operating frequency range of DC - 6 GHz, a maximum VSWR of 1.2 at up to 3 GHz, and can handle up to 300W at 2.7 GHz.
