The HPCE connector is a new generation of card edge connectors for applications requiring high linear current density and low power loss. HPCE's low height (2.8 mm across the package and 7.5 mm at right angles) and cost-effective and highly reliable imprinted power contact technology are similar to other FCI power solutions.

The HPCE connector integrates an innovative power contact and housing design to provide a more compact and compact structure for demanding DC and AC power modules or add-on card applications. HPCE's low profile (allowing maximum airflow), significantly increased linear current density, and low contact impedance make it an ideal choice for next-generation 1U/2U servers, storage enclosures, telecom equipment, and data communications/networking equipment.

The innovative HPCE cable-to-card edge provides the same features as the standard HPCE on-board product, while emphasizing power distribution applications through cabling. It offers high power (10 – 14 AWG wire) and low power (14 – 16 AWG wire) power contact options as well as integrated signal contacts (22 – 26 AWG wire). Modular tools provide maximum flexibility to meet a wide range of power distribution requirements, including bus accessories. The integrated latch option makes it ideal for highly vibrating and vibrating environments.

The HP2 product is similar to HPCE, but it uses a two-piece design (plug-to-socket cable assembly). In systems that do not provide guidance, the integrated steering feature makes the HP2 the best choice for blind-fit applications. HP2 products are available in board-to-board and cable-to-board configurations, including power contacts for power distribution and signal contacts for power control.
