Today, BOE held the BOE Global Innovation Partner Conference. Its chairman, Wang Dongsheng, delivered a keynote speech on the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence. However, as a display provider, there are few people who have BOE and the Internet of Things. Artificial intelligence is linked, so what is the meaning of the Internet of Things in Wang Dongsheng’s mouth?
Wang Dongsheng believes that the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and big data will be the fourth industrial revolution after steam engines, electricity and computers.
We will usher in the fourth industrial revolution. The Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and big data are driving humanity from the information society to the intelligent society. The fifth industrial revolution will be a revolution in the science of the universe. Only humans have realized their own evolution. It is possible to take the era of the earth and open the era of the universe.
The fourth revolution is also a technological revolution in silicon-based and carbon-based living organisms. In this industrial revolution, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and big data will bring trillions of dollars in market opportunities. In Wang Dongsheng's view, BOE is also part of this industrial transformation.
"The core elements of the Internet of Things are interconnected smart devices, massively transmitted big data, and artificial intelligence in the cloud. The underlying core components are mostly based on silicon-based materials, which we can call silicon-based living organisms. (But there are also carbon-based or other forms); life sciences and health industries are basically related to carbon-based living things."
Internet of Things challengeOf course, in order to complete the transition to the Internet of Things era, this process needs to face technical challenges.
The Internet of Things consists of functional hardware, computing units, sensing units, human-computer interaction units, communication units, software and content. Wang Dongsheng believes that the development of the Internet of Things needs to solve the following three major problems:
First, more powerful information gathering, transfer, calculation, storage and display capabilities. For example, an intelligent LCD factory can store 500 T data, and a newborn genetic data storage requires 15 T. The current information processing capability is obviously insufficient, and we need more powerful information processing capabilities.
Second, more scientific, reasonable, efficient, and constantly optimized algorithm support. The Internet of Things is ubiquitous, and its vitality lies in cross-border subdivision and infiltration integration. Each “cross-border subdivision†has its own different expertise and technology, including physical, chemical, biological, etc. Artificial intelligence to achieve infiltration and integration, create new value, need more, scientific, reasonable and efficient Mathematical models and algorithm support.
Third, high quality big data. Artificial intelligence must evolve through the integration of expertise and technology in various segments, and by continuously feeding in the big data in this segment. High-quality, ultra-large, continuous big data is the foundation for ensuring the evolution of artificial intelligence and the creation of new values. This involves the opening of data in the professional field, as well as legal, privacy protection and many other issues.
These issues involve basic components and materials technologies such as sensing, computing, storage, display, and transmission; computing and communication systems; software and algorithms; dataization capabilities of various industries; information security, privacy protection, and other legal and social issues. . In a nutshell, all aspects of government, industry, and research can work together to solve the above problems.
The chip is the core component of the computing, communication, sensing and other units; the display is the core component of the human-computer interaction unit, and the most important information portal of the future Internet of Things; the software and content are invisible, exist or be transmitted like air; All kinds of functional hardware are tangible, they need to be the node or port of the Internet of Things, and need to add core, screen and software. The Internet of Things is a harmonious combination of related chips, display devices, software and content, and functional hardware to form a value creation system that connects people, people and things, things and things.
What is BOE doing?Although few people associate BOE with the Internet of Things, Wang Dongsheng believes that the display screen is the hardware entrance of the Internet of Things system, and the thin film sensor is the key component of the information collection end of the Internet of Things. BOE's positioning is also based on semiconductor display and thin film sensor technology, and its business includes display devices and thin film sensors, smart systems and smart health services.
There is no doubt that the Internet of Things is an area that BOE is focusing on now and in the future. Wang Dongsheng introduced three things that BOE is doing now:
First, open up the application side, and cooperate with all kinds of enterprises and professionals who are interested in the Internet of Things field to innovate new hardware, new software and new applications to jointly create new opportunities in the market.
Second, open up the technology side, and cooperate with enterprises, universities, research institutions and professionals who are interested in display, sensing, artificial intelligence, Internet of things solutions, health care and other fields to promote technological progress and products. Innovate and jointly create new opportunities in the market.
Third, comprehensively promote the harmonious combination of semiconductor chips, display devices, software and content, functional hardware, and work with all walks of life to create new applications and open up new opportunities in the market!
As for the future, BOE will also do the following three things around the Internet of Things:
First, upgrade TFT-LCD, AMOLED and next-generation display technologies. It provides the best display technology, products and services for smart phones, tablets, laptops, monitors, TVs, automobiles and other transportation vehicles, industrial control, medical, wear, VR/AR, DID and other fields, and a better user experience.
Second, expand new applications. Cooperate with enterprises and people from all walks of life such as household appliances, commercial equipment, culture and art, health care, etc. to help them transform and develop, and help their intelligent devices to become an indispensable part of the Internet of Things system. For example, the refrigerator plus display system becomes a smart refrigerator and becomes a port of the Internet of Things. Electrical appliances change network, electrical companies become Internet of Things companies. For example, we can provide a digital art trading platform and display technology display that is no less than Xuan paper, helping the painter to become a player in the digital art era, so that every family can have the ability to own world art masterpieces.
Third, the combination of electronic display technology such as semiconductor display technology and sensing technology with medical and life sciences, cross-border innovation, and development of information medicine, mobile medicine and regenerative medicine. Establish a people-centered health service system and big data system to continuously improve people's healthy life expectancy, so that ordinary people can enjoy high-quality smart health services. This is a new focus for our future investment.
Although BOE is transforming towards the Internet of Things, the transformation does not mean not to display. This product line is still its core business, but the display carrier has changed from mobile terminals and computers and TVs to IoT devices and robots. . BOE's goal is to achieve revenues of more than 180 billion yuan in 2020. To achieve this goal, BOE needs to solve not only technical challenges (such as OLED display), but how to adapt to the new ecosystem is also a must. problem.
Transmission And Distribution Pole
Steel poles are commonly used to carry several types of electric power lines, distribution lines and lighting system. Distribution lines carry power from local substations to customers. They generally carry voltages from 4.6 to 33kV for distances up to 30 miles, and include transformers to step the voltage down from the primary voltage to the lower secondary voltage used by the customer. A service drop carries this lower voltage to the customer's premises.
