Simplifying the control of smart homes is relatively expensive. If you use an Android device, you can choose a simpler way that doesn't cost too much money.
There are many ways to control your smart home without having to slowly look at your phone or tablet.
You can control the lighting through Amazon Echo, or the voice-controlled remote thermostat, or through Fitbit, the coffee machine automatically cooks a hot cup of coffee when you get up. Use the Flic and PebblebeeStone smart buttons to control multiple devices with a short press or long press with IFTTT.
The above mentioned a variety of ways to make the operation of a variety of connected devices in the smart home easier, but these methods are relatively expensive.
If you are an Android user, you can choose an easier, and relatively cheaper way to achieve your goals effectively. Below are the steps.
Conditional requirements
If you already have an Android smartphone or tablet that supports NFC, for a total of about $10, each tag can be set up and used in a few minutes.
First, you need to prepare some NFC (Near Field Communication) tags, each with a label for automation, which is available on Amazon and is generally cheap. Then, you need to install an application that supports writing NFC tags. I am using NFCTools, which is free to install.
In addition, you need an IFTTT account that has activated Makerchannel. Users who already have an IFTTT account can access Makerchannel by clicking on the website ifttt.com and clicking on "Channel" in the upper right. Click the channel icon and then click "Connect."
Use of Makerchannel
To set up an NFC tag for use with IFTTT, you first need to create an IFTTT menu by creating a channel. Even if you are familiar with IFTTT, it may be difficult to start using Makerchannel, but it is actually very simple to use.
Access ifttt.com via the IF app on your browser or smartphone, create a new menu, enter your username in the browser, and click "Create" in the drop-down menu.
Click the menu button in the top right corner of the IF app, then click Add ID in the top right corner and click "Create New Menu" below the app. Then create a Maker menu:
>Click This and search for Maker. Click the Maker icon.
>Trigger: Select "Receive network request".
>EventName: Use a name that clearly defines the action, such as "switch light." Click on "CreateTrigger"
