The High-tech LED Industry Research Institute (GLII) recently released a research report that more than 80% of traditional lighting companies in China have begun to get involved in LEDs, and some SMEs have even abandoned traditional lighting business.
Whether it is the "NVC farce" that has been heated up, or Foshan Lighting, which is in the midst of a violation of the regulatory trade, the management of the above-mentioned company has no conclusion on whether to firmly transform the LED, and many dealers can't see hope.
In June 2012, Foshan Lighting announced the dissolution of the new light source company, which was established more than a year ago, and once again exposed the powerlessness of traditional lighting giants to transform LEDs.
Traditional lighting giants are still lingering
The boat is easy to turn around and the boat is difficult to turn around. For SMEs, it is relatively easy to abandon traditional lighting and fully enter the LED. In 2011, the price of trichromatic phosphors increased exponentially. A large number of small and medium-sized enterprises that did not have large-scale advantages were difficult to maintain in the traditional lighting business. Therefore, they have been involved in the LED lighting industry. It can be said that the situation is forced, and it is definitely a homeopathic move.
For large traditional enterprises, although they have begun to get involved in LED, it is still a minority that is really willing to invest huge sums of money to expand the LED business. Even some of the management of the company still disagree on whether to transform LEDs and choose when to transform. Recently, the internal staff of many traditional lighting companies revealed that the company's management has not yet had a result on whether to transform LEDs, and it is still in its infancy.
In fact, in recent years, although traditional lighting giants have been active in the LED field, there are not many gains.
Foshan Lighting: 铩羽而归

The new light source company officially dissolved. Although as early as August 2010, Foshan Lighting issued an announcement on the signing of the LED project cooperation intention agreement, saying that it had reached a preliminary cooperation intention with the US Puri company, but so far, there has been no progress in this project.
Regarding the announcement of the clearing subsidiary, due to the changes in the market and technological environment, the company's original development project has a large market risk. Since its establishment, it has not carried out actual operations, and the company's existence will only increase the corresponding management fees. Failure to produce economic benefits will seriously damage the interests of the shareholders of the company.
From the establishment of the subsidiary to the dissolution, the new light source company did not generate any income for more than a year, which is enough to explain the “strength†of Foshan Lighting's investment in this project. The cost of “installing the facade†is a bit large.
Perhaps Foshan Lighting had placed too much hope on the company's largest shareholder, Osram, Germany. Originally thought that it could borrow its mature LED technology, but the company's wishful thinking did not do so. Because OSRAM is the largest single shareholder of Foshan Lighting, but it is also the biggest competitor.
