Baidu's new home page launches "points of interest"

Baidu recently launched a new home page on the "point of interest" feature, in order to consolidate its Internet portal status, but also confirmed Baidu's transformation from a search engine to a media company.

The new Baidu home page defaults to the "Baidu Xpress" and "Real-time Hotspot" modules, and more modules can be freely added by users. These modules include more detailed areas such as synthesis, information, sports, lotteries, games and constellations.

Baidu once stated that it will exist as a media company, and Google is also thinking in this respect. The new page launched by Baidu is similar to Google's iGoogle personalized homepage, but it has stronger control over the Internet's entrance.
