Tianlong Optoelectronics announced on September 13 that the company's MOCVD equipment process verification and development of epitaxial processes have achieved significant phase results, and process technology has also met customer assessment requirements. On this basis, Tianlong Optoelectronics Holdings Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Zhonghao, signed a equipment sales contract with a customer for the first time on September 11, 2012 through its wholly-owned subsidiary Zhonghao Optoelectronic Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Equipment installation and testing will begin on the client before November 30th of the year.
According to the data, Tianlong Optoelectronics specializes in single crystal furnace polycrystalline furnaces, and is also developing other products such as sapphire furnaces and multi-wire cutting machines. MOCVD is one of its new products. Since the photovoltaic industry as a whole entered the severe winter, Tianlong Optoelectronics' main business is difficult to revitalize. In 2011, its performance fell by 27% year-on-year, and the loss in the first half of 2012 was 52.65 million yuan. Now MOCVD has announced substantial progress, which is a rare advantage for Tianlong Optoelectronics.
Tianlong photoelectric staff told reporters that the company's equipment can produce LED blue-green light, mainly used in the field of lighting and backlight, which is wider than the application range of red light. Part of the technology is its own, and part of it comes from customers. Debugging results are important
Analysts said that in fact, before Tianlong Optoelectronics, many units had expressed their confidence to develop domestically produced MOCVD, such as the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the cooperation between Zhaoxin Group and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Qingdao Jiesheng Optoelectronics and Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology. But in the end there is no following. Previously, Zhan Zhao Optoelectronics (300102) also said that it has cooperated with people to develop MOCVD, but has not seen the company's progress announcement.
"Of course, success is of course very big, but it also has to see the results of the first customer commissioning." The above analysts said that the application of blue-green light is broader, and mainly involves coating. MOCVD can be done. If domestic equipment is commercially available, it is naturally a national honor. Equipment that is generally purchased from the United States or Germany should be called a standard machine. After the manufacturer buys it, it must be repeatedly debugged according to its own situation. However, for the localization of equipment, downstream manufacturers do not catch a cold. An epitaxial wafer and chip manufacturer told reporters that MOCVD is most afraid of instability. It is possible that the first batch of products will be qualified, and the second batch will not work. If the domestic equipment is not mature, the manufacturer's personalized debugging will be impossible to talk about, so now Still do not consider domestic equipment.
