Seoul Semiconductor has developed Acrich 2, which does not require AC/DC conversion, to subvert the traditional application mode. In addition to increasing the convenience of application, Acrich 2 will set off a new revolutionary era for the development of the LED industry. Acrich 2 has now introduced 4W, 8W, 12W, 16W four modules, which can replace 40W, 60W and 100W incandescent lamps, and can replace MR16 halogen lamps and downlights.
Acrich 2 is equipped with its own IC, which can be directly driven by AC. It can work normally without the need of a rectifier transformer. Therefore, the size and weight of the lighting fixture can be more advantageous than the general DC LED lamp. The design is simple and easy to avoid AC. The loss caused by /DC conversion guarantees a life of about 50,000 hours.
Since the LED light source is a semiconductor device operating at a low voltage (VF=2-3.6V) and a large current (IF=200mA-1500mA), it is necessary to provide a suitable direct current to emit light normally. The technology of direct current (DC) driving DCLED light source is currently the mainstream in the market. Since the power supply for daily lighting is high-voltage AC (AC100V-220V), it is necessary to use a buck technique to obtain a lower voltage, usually using a transformer or switching power supply to step down, and then convert alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). And then convert to a DC constant current source, in order to promote the LED light source to emit light.
