If you think that blockchain as a technology is completely useless, then Microsoft is going to prove you wrong.
According to the Hindustan Times, the technology giant has partnered with leading IT solutions provider Tech Mahindra to use blockchain technology to combat spam in India.
Although no specific technology or product plans have been announced, the solution is being built on Microsoft's Azure platform and will also utilize cloud services.
Prashant Shukla, the national technical officer of Microsoft India, said at a press conference: "The intersection of cloud computing and blockchain will ensure new ways to monitor and enforce compliance throughout the ecosystem. ," "With the solution supported by the Microsoft Azure blockchain, we will ensure that the vulnerabilities used by crooks and spammers are reduced to achieve the end user's purpose."
It is said that the platform will bring all relevant parties into the same ecosystem, including all telecom operators, legal authorities, users, and even telemarketers. The ecosystem is expected to make it easier for users to agree to and register their preferences for marketing calls.
Tech Mahindra stated at a press conference: "The solution will be a shared, secure UCCs (Unsolicited Commercial Communications) ledger distributed on a computer network." [This] will ensure a A transparent and verifiable system to help companies mitigate UCC on their network. "
Just one month before Microsoft announced the news, the Telecommunications Authority of India (TRAI) required all telecom operators to use blockchain technology to curb the threat of spam.
Tech Mahindra and Microsoft hope that operators do not have to worry about developing their own solutions now, because their products will be sufficient for them to comply with TRAI's new regulations.
According to the new specification, the user's consent will have to be clearly recorded on the blockchain to receive market calls. Users should also be able to revoke their consent at any time. If operators do not comply with the standards, they will face the risk of fines of up to 500,000 U.S. dollars (about 7,136 U.S. dollars) per month in Indian rupees.
When it comes to blockchain projects, Microsoft is quite confident. The technology giant announced a blockchain-based digital identity management solution in February of this year. In June of this year, the company announced another blockchain project to manage copyright and loyalty.
It is worth noting that neither of these two projects have been updated. We don’t know if blockchain is helpful in managing digital identities or copyrights. But this time, telecom operators have deadlines for compliance.
This means that we may soon see a prototype of Microsoft's blockchain products.
Solar-powered pumps run on electricity generated by photovoltaic (PV) panels or the radiated thermal energy available from collected sunlight as opposed to grid electricity- or diesel-run water pumps.Generally, solar-powered pumps consist of a Solar Panel array, solar charge Controller, DC water pump, fuse box/breakers, electrical wiring, and a water storage tank. The operation of solar-powered pumps is more economical mainly due to the lower operation and maintenance costs and has less environmental impact than pumps powered by an internal combustion engine. Solar pumps are useful where grid electricity is unavailable or impractical, and alternative sources (in particular wind) do not provide sufficient energy.
